Kisspeptin is a reproductive-axis signaling peptide, the product of the KISS1 gene, that acts on the KISS1R (GPR54) receptor and is studied in laboratory models for its role in regulating GnRH neuron activity and upstream control of the reproductive endocrine system. Multiple fragment forms (such as kisspeptin-10 and kisspeptin-54) are used as reference materials in neuroendocrine and receptor-signaling research.
