Multi-vial packs, large vials and listings whose volume the store never states are excluded from these figures rather than guessed at — they would make a $/mL that means nothing. 13 of the 77 sources list at least one branded pharmaceutical vial; that is a label of what the product IS, never a quality ranking.
Pharma-grade means a branded pharmaceutical vial — Hospira, Pfizer and similar — which is technically a prescription product. Generic means generic or research-labeled bacteriostatic water, the common vendor offering. This is a transparency label of what the product is, so you can compare like with like. It is not a quality, purity, or safety ranking: pepmg doesn't test these products and makes no claim that either is better or safer than the other.
"$/mL" is the vendor's list price ÷ total volume. Multi-vial packs and large vials are flagged bulk and never define the single-vial "cheapest". Where a pack's per-vial vs total volume isn't clear from the listing, we show n/a rather than guess.
