What does “research use only” (RUO) mean?

Research Use Only means a product is intended for laboratory research, not for human or veterinary use. Nearly everything pepmg tracks is labeled this way: it is sold for research, not as a pharmacy medicine, and for most of these compounds no regulator has cleared it for human use.

A few compounds are the active ingredient in an approved prescription medicine, but the research-vendor material is not that approved product. pepmg is a price index for RUO materials. It reports published doses with their sources named, and gives no personal medical advice.

All products listed are sold by third-party vendors for laboratory and research use only (RUO). Where an FDA label or a peer-reviewed study has published a dose, pepmg reports it with the source named, because that is safer than guessing. It is a report, not medical advice and not a recommendation to use anything. pepmg sells nothing and ships nothing. Listings are price-tracking data, not endorsements.
